Help lines for placed Windows work the same as with graphic objects inside TkZinc 3.3.4 or Canvas.
Of course, embedded Help lines do not exist for the place geometry manager. The Help lines world consists entirely of their parent window.
Example 3.5. Place Managing two Buttons
Newly created windows are always placed at the default position of the place manager –usually 100, 100 absolute.
When two buttons are being created right after each other, the last button will hide the first one.
Create a Y-Help Line in order to align both buttons on it.
Then move the Y-Help Line at the position intendet for the buttons.
Select one button and move it to the proper place along the Help Line. Repeat with the other button.
Also align the second button! Help lines do not snap to objects, so a slight –1 pixel– offset is very likely to happen even when the help line was carefully placed in the center of those buttons.
