grefmessages — Create and manipulate grefmessages windows

Runtime Library Options

-creator

The RTL based option creator is used to instantiate the template grefmessages with a Tk Window. The used creator window must have a -class property.

Acceptable Tk Windows are: toplevel for floating windows, and frame for embedded windows.

Standard Options

-state, -background, -relief, -borderwidth

Window-specific Options

Command-Line Name: -usagevariable, Database Name: usageVariable, Database Class; -

Tcl Variable, with a boolean value. The value 1 activates the »Message Catalog« usage.

Internal used by the checkbutton in the top area.

Command-Line Name: -propertiesvariable, Database Name: propertiesVariable, Database Class; -

Tcl Variable, contains a properties list. The list is maintained by the »grefmessages« dialog. The »Message Catalog« is used for the listed properties.

Command-Line Name: -languagevariable, Database Name: languageVariable, Database Class; -

Tcl Variable, contains the default LC denoting the design language.

Creates a grefmessages window.

»grefmessages« is a preference page related to the »Message Catalog«. For performance reasons is the »Message Catalog« channeled through the Option Database. Every Message Catalog Property, listed here, must not contain variable substitutions.

The main data is being supplied to the »grefmessages« window via the »-propertiesVariable«, a normal Tcl-Variable.

Window Command

A Window created through the grefmessages command exposes various functions. Using these functions has the following general form: 

object.option(?arg arg ...?)

PathName is the same as the window path name. Option and the args determine the exact behavior of the command. The following commands are possible for this window:

objectcget(option)

Returns the current value of the configuration option given by option. Option may have any of the values accepted by the grefmessages command.

object.configure(?option?) {?value option value ...?}

Query or modify the configuration options of the window. If no option is specified, returns a list describing all of the available options for pathName (see Tk_ConfigureInfo for information on the format of this list). If option is specified with no value, then the command returns a list describing the one named option (this list will be identical to the corresponding sublist of the value returned if no option is specified). If one or more option-value pairs are specified, then the command modifies the given window option(s) to have the given value(s); in this case the command returns an empty string. Option may have any of the values accepted by the grefmessages command.

Secondary constructor for template grefmessages.

object.usage()

Activates or disables the grefmessages dialog. In response to the included checkbutton.
